ChromeLIVE! This Weekend in Lubbock
Buddy Holly. Tumble Weeds. The Panhandle. West Texas Romanticism. Fashion. Music Festival. TOMS Shoes.
How in the world could all of these things be connected ? Well there is one common denominator and that one thing is Lubbock, TX, or more specifically, Chrome Boutique.

I have had the pleasure of working with Lindsay & Stephen Spiegelberg (as well as their all-star Head Buyer, Carli Watson) for over 3+ years now with TOMS, and let me say it has been an amazing ride.
Chrome is like nothing I have ever seen, an oasis in the middle of the West TX heat, with a TOMS Shoes demand that rivals any other city in the country. As the lone retailer there in Lubbock, TX, they have partnered with TOMS to not only provide an estimated over 10,000 pairs of shoes to children in need over their 3 years representing TOMS, but have also led the brigade in hosting what is now the largest TOMS Shoes Style Your Sole Event worldwide to date: ChromeLive!

This Saturday, April 24th, from 10am - 7pm will mark the 3rd Annual ChromeLive! event. With an estimated 4-5K people estimated in attendance, the festival will be highlighted by ATO Records’ very own Indie-rock legend Ben Kweller. A favorite headliner at the Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL), Kweller will be making his first highly anticipated visit to Lubbock. Also performing will be veteran ACL darling Matt Costa (of Jack Johnson’s Brush Fire Records) , South by Southwest (SxSW) rockers The Orbans of Ft. Worth, and Lubbock’s own Thriftstore Cowboys, Spivey and Estelline.

During the April 24th music festival, the parking lot will be filled with tables of beads, buttons, paints and other arrays of complimentary decorations for individuals to sit and design their own unique pair of TOMS Shoes right on the spot.
“Each year, TOMS ‘Style Your Sole’ event stops all over the country in a grassroots effort to help children in need,” Spiegelberg explained. “But Chrome is honored to have the biggest event world-wide each year. And I know once again, we’ll have the Texas giving spirit that will come and support children in need. Fans from all over Texas came in for last year’s show. The same is expected for this 2010 event with confirmations coming from California to New York and even as far away as New Zealand. ”

We are excited to partner with an amazing boutique for an amazing event and we look forward to seeing you there this Saturday.
Maybe we can get Ben Kweller to sing some Buddy Holly!
Cheers
